What products do you offer?

We are an authorized dealer for STA-RITETM products.  We offer the most frequently
requested products online and in our Coos Bay showroom.  These include sump pumps,
effluent pumps, submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps, jet pumps, and pressure tanks.
We can special-order other products.

What form of payment do you accept?

We offer free estimates for all of our services.  For online purchases from our catalog,
please use PayPal.  For special products please call (541)269-5343 or stop by the shop in
Coos Bay to place an order.  Our electric motor repair business operates over the counter.
We can order parts and begin the repair with a small deposit; you'll pay the balance when
the job is done with cash or check.  We will invoice you for on-site services and appreciate
payment within 30 days.  Overdue accounts accrue interest.

What is a water system?

A water system performs three major jobs – delivery, use and disposal.  If you live in the
city, public utilities deliver pressurized, potable water to your home.  You use it by turning
on a tap.  Waste water flows to the city’s sewer and is cleaned and recycled.  Rural
homeowners without access to municipal utilities must create delivery, use and disposal
systems that meet code requirements.  The delivery system brings pressurized water from
the ground to the residence.  Once at the residence, the plumbing and fixtures allow use of
the water for cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.  Waste water flows through the
plumbing to DEQ-approved disposal systems, frequently an in-ground septic system.  At
Wrights Artesian, we specialize in design, installation and maintenance of water delivery
systems and sell pumps and other products for plumbing and septic systems.  We would
be happy to recommend qualified professionals to help you with installing  plumbing and
septic systems.

What is included in a complete water delivery system?

Think of four parts – source, storage, movement and filtration.  Pumps bring water to the
surface from either a hand-dug or mechanical well.  Spring water rises naturally to the
surface but must be moved and pressurized.  Surface water is stored, pressurized and
moved to the residence where it enters the plumbing.  Before you can drink well or spring
water, it must be filtered to remove contaminants and color.  The end result of a complete
delivery system is pure drinking water.

What services do you offer?

Our core business is designing, installing and maintaining complete water delivery
systems for rural customers without access to municipal water.  If you purchase a system
from us, we will discuss your needs, visit your site and design a system to meet your
requirements.  If required, we drill to find underground water or develop an above-ground
spring.  We install a system that extracts water from the source, moves it under pressure
to the house, and filters it to remove contaminants.

Can you provide partial services?

Yes.  We offer design consultation services at an hourly rate.  If we install the system all
design fees are included in the overall price.  We maintain our systems and those
installed by others.  We also offer emergency 24-hour maintenance of our own and other
systems at an after-hours rate.

How much do you charge for water systems?

Your cost depends on many factors.  Your requirements dictate how much water we need
to provide.  Your site, the material below the surface, and depth of water affect drilling time
and charges.  Based on our extensive experience drilling wells in Coos, Curry and
Douglas County, we will be happy to provide a more accurate estimate once we know
exactly where you want to drill a well.  The cost of drilling a well typically accounts for half
the total cost of a complete water system.   The quality of your groundwater affects the cost
of filtration and purification.  Additional charges include installation of pumps, storage and
pressurization tanks and water filters.  We build a small outbuilding – a pump house - to
protect electrical boxes, pumps, pressure tanks, and filters.

How long does it take to install a water delivery system?

The same factors that determine cost also affect the time required to position our drill rig,
drill a well, build a pump house and install pipes, tanks, and filters.  Weather and season
are major considerations.  We don't usually drill when it's raining to avoid excessive
damage to your site.  Late spring, summer and early fall are peak periods for well-drilling.
We understand the urgency in providing potable water to your home and will make every
effort to meet your particular requirements or building milestones.

What if you don’t find water on my site?

We’ve had great success finding water and making it pure enough for human
consumption.  Unfortunately, drilling water wells is not an exact science.  Sometimes the
water is not potable even with treatment and purification.  If we don’t find potable water, we
charge only for drilling costs and will discuss other options to meet your water
requirements.

Can I do some of the work or use equipment I already own to save money?

Our license, bond and insurance restricts those who can actually drill a well to qualified
employees on our staff.  We can look at your equipment and see if it’s possible to use it in
a system.  You could save money by building the pump house yourself.
